Fall not only brings cooler weather (below 90 in our case). It also brings the start of the Fall Art show season. Central Florida hosts many fine art shows. Art collectors and artists from all over the country visit the area to buy and sell all types of beautiful art.
Historic Downtown Melbourne Fl. is host to one such art show. The historic section of Melbourne is a 6 to 7 block walk back in time. The streets are filled with historic store fronts, eclectic shops, boutiques, and restaurants. This makes a great backdrop for the Fall Festival and Art Show.
The Melbourne Fall Festival is filled with art of all kinds. A short walk through the historic streets of Melbourne you will find all types of paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photography, and arts &crafts. There is fun for all ages, face painting, arts & craft making for the kids, shopping and beer for the adults. Music is also a big part of the festival. The main stage was filled with local artists featuring all kinds of music throughout the day.
Here are some of my photos that I took for Main Street Melbourne.

One of the many festival shoppers. You never know how people will react when you photograph them. This woman was looking at the ornament just as I was about to snap another photo of her. She looked up saw that I was going to take her photo and gave me a nice smile.
One of several photographers selling their work at the festival. Richard J. Auger had some beautiful black and white Florida landscapes. He uses a large format film camera to take the images and uses a digital printer to print them. He also makes his own frames. He had some nice work.
This little girl was so cute! Her outfit blended in so well with the sculptures; it was like she became one of them.
Abby Road, Melbourne style.
I’m not sure if they were watching me or the water art?
Shoppers becoming part of the art.
“Love” I think she loved to shop!
Inside the Blue Betty travel trailer. She really had some great stuff, inside and out.
Plenty of kids creating art of their own.
My beautiful wife Robbie, checking out the light-up bras. Yes I said light-up! They had little LED lights on them. No, she didn’t get one.
Festival attendees becoming walking art!
You don’t need to have your face painted to become part of the art.
One of the places that make Downtown Melbourne special. On the ground level a nice restaurant. On the top level there is a secondhand shop.
Art imitates life.
The main stage where musical artists performed. We did have a quick Florida afternoon shower. It created a partial rainbow over the stage.
These guys were really cool! I didn’t get one, but I wanted to.
When attending the art festival it’s important to wear your art show camouflage. You want to blend in, not stand out.
I loved the juxtaposition of the woman and her baby against the background of the odd and gruesome looking fish wood carvings.
Balloon animals and hats for everybody!
Woman: “This would look great in our living room!” Man: “Hmmmmm, it’s really big! Woman: “Oh, I know maybe in the dining room?” Man: “Hmmmmm it’s really big! Woman: “I think we should get it, what do you think?” Man: “Hmmmmm, it’s really big!
